City Staff Analyzing Impacts of Referendum Questions

portland news

City of Portland staff will begin analyzing the impacts of the citizen initiative referendum questions that passed at the polls yesterday during the November 3, 2020 election. Questions A, B, C, D, and F passed according to the unofficial election results.

“It is important that City staff have the time and opportunity to conduct further analysis on the range of impacts of all five questions now that they have voter approval,” said Mayor Kate Snyder.” “I’ll be looking to help build the Council process so that we can understand specifics and near term impacts.

According to Chapter 9, such ordinances go into effect 30 days after the final canvases are returned.

The City will have more information to share once the analysis is complete, and will share its findings with the public so businesses and residents are aware of the implications.

The City will also share the official certified election results as soon as they become available.
