Reminder to Residents- No Curbside Yard Waste Collection in the Spring  (4/23/2008)
Please note that the City of Portland does not have a curbside leaf collection in the spring. All brush and yard waste will need to be taken to Riverside Recycling Facility at 910 Riverside Street, Portland. More

Bulk Waste Curbside Pick-up to begin in May  (4/23/2008)
This year's bulky item pick-up will begin the week of May 5th and end the week of June 6th. Make sure you know what types of items will be accepted for collection! More

Reconstruction Project to Begin on Ocean Avenue  (4/8/2008)

Commercial Street Traffic and Drainage Improvements Project  (9/20/2007)
Construction of the City’s Commercial Street Traffic and Drainage Improvements Project is scheduled to begin on, or about, October 1, 2007. The City has contracted with Shaw Brothers Construction, Inc. of Gorham, Maine to build this project. More

Program suspended due to budget overrun. The program will resume on July 5, 2008.  (1/29/2008)
Due to overwhelming demand, we have expended this year's budget for the household hazardous waste program at Riverside Recycling. Consequently, the program will be suspended after February 2 but will resume again on Saturday, July 5, 2008. If you have any oil paints, chemicals, pesticides or other hazardous items we ask that you hold onto them until then. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. More

We collect your garbage and recycling, clear your streets of ice and snow in the winter, help maintain the City's sewer system, build your sidewalks, manage the City's traffic lights and street signage - and the list goes on.
