[ARCHIVED] West Side Interceptor Sewer Survey Work

As part of the City’s effort to protect Casco Bay and improve the operation of our sewer system, the City of Portland Water Resources Division will be surveying the West Side Interceptor.  SGC Engineering LLC has been contracted to do this survey work. This work will begin September 3, 2019 and continue through December of 2019.  Surveyors will be working along the West Side Interceptor Sewer Right-of-Way.  The West Side Interceptor runs from the intersection of Warren Avenue and Trundy Road, crossing under rail tracks, continuing alongside Capisic Brook, crossing Sunset Lane, Warwick Street, Dennett Street, Violette Hill Street and entering Brighton Avenue near Mayer Road.

Surveyors will be locating existing property markers for the Interceptor Right-of-Way and locating existing manholes, headwalls and outlets along the Right-of-Way.

This work is necessary to locate Right-of-Way and manholes, so the city can determine how best to access manholes and pipes for CCTV inspections, as well as conducting repairs, if necessary.

If you see surveyors working behind your property, they are working for the City to establish the Right-of-Way limits. Should you have any questions please contact the Department of Public Works - Water Resources Division at 207-874-8838.
