City Launches “Ask the Plan Reviewer” Appointments on Tuesdays at City Hall

ask the plan reviewer

Starting August 14, the City of Portland's Permitting and Inspections Department will offer the opportunity for customers to meet with a Plan Reviewer for 30 minutes and ask questions. Appointments are available from 9 AM to 12 PM every Tuesday morning. Anyone interested should contact 207-874-8703 or email inspections@portlandmaine.gov to schedule.

Questions should be related to building or life safety code requirements for a specific project. Questions may be related to a specific building permit application that is currently in the permitting process, or for an application not yet submitted.

“This follows our successful ‘Ask the Code Officer’ effort, which we launched late last year and met with more than 100 people,” said Michael Russell, Director of the Permitting & Inspections Department. “The goal of this effort remains the same as before, to provide accessible customer service by helping applicants understand code requirements and facilitating the plan review process. We’re hoping this opportunity will be extra beneficial for those customers with smaller projects. ”
