Substance Use Prevention
Under the umbrella of Portland Prevention, our substance use prevention programs use an array of strategies to target populations, ranging from adolescents to adults, with the goal of empowering people to make choices that will ensure healthy and productive lives while providing options that help reduce the harm caused by drug use.
Community Drug Drop Box* locations are available in the following towns:

Cape Elizabeth PD - 325 Ocean House Road - 8:00-4:00daily
Cumberland PD - 290 Tuttle Road - 24 hours
Cumberland County Sheriff's Office - 36 County Way, Portland - 24 hours
Falmouth PD - 2 Marshall Drive - 24 hours
Freeport PD - 16 Main Street - 8:00-4:00 daily
Gorham PD - 270 Main Street - 8:30-4:30 daily (except holidays)
Portland PD - 109 Middle Street - 24 hours
Scarborough PD - 246 US-1 - 24 hours
South Portland PD - 30 Anthoine Street - 24 hours
Westbrook Public Safety 570 Main Street - 24 hours
Windham Public Safety - 375 Gray Road - M-f 8:00-4:00 (except holidays)
Yarmouth PD - 200 Main Street - 24 hours
Our coalition (Overdose Prevention Project) focuses on asset-based positive youth development, the prevention of fatal overdoses through education, support, and outreach and improved access to treatment, recovery, and support services for individuals struggling with addiction.
